Attorney Nicolás López Laspina is a Senior Associate and Team Leader at Velástegui Abogados. His practice specializes in Data Protection, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Litigation, and Legal Advisory.
Before joining the firm, he worked as Legal Assistant to Constitutional Judge Dr. Ramiro Ávila Santamaría at the Constitutional Court of Ecuador. He also gained experience as a legal intern at the Free Legal Clinics of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), providing legal assistance to low-income individuals—an experience that strengthened his commitment to human rights and social justice.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Data Protection Law from the University of La Rioja (Spain), a Law Degree from PUCE, and a Diploma in Data Protection and Regulatory Compliance from the Universidad Católica de Cuenca, the Pontifical University of Salamanca, and the Ibero-American Institute of Justice. Additionally, he completed a continuing education program in Data Protection at the Ibero-American Institute of Law and Economics (IILE).
